Location: Reception, National Museum, Janpath

Project: National Museum Digitization Project

Working for the reception has been an experience of the highest honor for me as it is the first place a visitor arrives at when he enters the National Museum Building. The Museum wanted the Reception to be Immersive, Vibrant, and Informative about what the museum had in store.

Reception of the National Museum

Brief:

To create a system to disseminate general information on the different galleries and artifacts located in the museum. The Intent is to let the visitor know all the different exhibits and important artifacts along with where they are situated in the museum.

Screens:

There were two sets of multi touch walls on the either sides of the reception of the Museum, each having 10 screens of 1080p resolution arranged in a 5x2 configuration.

Information Architecture:

The information architecture of the User Experience is pretty simple, the screen's functionality is to basically disseminate categorical information about the Museum. The IA for screen 1 ( Galleries ) is a top down architecture with three main pages consisting of the three floors of the museum.

The IA for screen 2 (masterpieces)( is bottom up. All artefacts are displaced in the Home Screen and upon interaction, it would display information about an artefact.

Final Screens:

During the Screensaver, windows depicting various halls pop up and down randomly

The three floors can be accessed simultaneously by different users.

The screen can be used by seven visitors t the same time! There are four artefact columns and three floor columns.

Coding and Testing:

I worked with a web and software developer during the coding process. This phase brought up various design and usability issues which were resolved in an agile manner.
